RO-TAP Series Mechanical Sieve Shakers
The RO-TAP RX-29 is a premier mechanical sieve shaker recognised for its exceptional performance in particle size analysis.
Unlike electromagnetic sieve shakers, which utilise a three-dimensional motion driven by electromagnetic forces, the RO-TAP operates through a unique two-dimensional mechanism that combines horizontal circular motion with vertical tapping.
This dual-action allows for more effective separation of materials, ensuring that even irregularly shaped particles can efficiently pass through the sieve openings.
How It Works
The RO-TAP RX-29 employs a rotary tapping mechanism that enhances the sieving process through a combination of circular oscillating motion and powerful hammer taps. This unique design agitates the test sieve stack, allowing individual particles of a material sample to effectively navigate toward the mesh openings of the sieves.
As the machine rotates horizontally, the simultaneous vertical tapping creates a dynamic environment that encourages particles—regardless of their shape or size—to move freely and settle into the appropriate sieve layers. This imitates the circular and tapping motions of traditional hand sieving. This motion not only facilitates quicker analysis but also minimizes the need for manual re-sieving, allowing for a more streamlined workflow in laboratories.
Reliable Data
The RO-TAP RX-29 provides consistent oscillation and tapping motions to ensure uniformity in how samples are processed. The machine is calibrated to perform at specific oscillations per minute, which contributes to reproducible results across multiple tests. This reliability is crucial for industries that depend on precise measurements for quality control and compliance.
Sample Capacity and Test Sieves
The RO-TAP RX-29 is designed to accommodate various sample sizes and test sieve configurations. It can handle up to 3 kg of sample weight and is compatible with 200 mm or 203 mm (8”) diameter test sieves.
Depending on the configuration, it can hold either six full-height sieves or thirteen half-height sieves, making it versatile for different testing needs.
Common Materials and ASTM Standards
The RO-TAP is widely utilised for analysing a range of materials, including rubber, carbon black, activated carbon, abrasives, tobacco, metal powder/swarf and mining materials.
The RO-TAP is extensively employed for the analysis of various materials, particularly those with flat, elongated or rough, angular textures that may hinder flow and cause mesh openings to blind. Its efficiency is especially recognised when working with irregularly shaped samples, which often present challenges for electromagnetic sieve shakers.
The RO-TAP's distinctive mechanism enables the seamless processing of these complex materials, ensuring precise particle size distribution. It adheres to various ASTM & FEPA standards, which underscores its importance in achieving accurate and consistent analytical results across diverse fields.
