Simultaneous Thermogravimetric Analyser


The Hitachi NEXTA STA (simultaneous thermogravimetric analyzer) measures DSC and TGA simultaneously in a single unit. STA can be used for evaluating thermal resistance, decomposition temperature, and quantitative analysis of components by TGA data; as well as specific heat capacity Cp with DSC.

The Hitachi NEXTA STA (simultaneous thermogravimetric analyzer) measures DSC and TGA simultaneously in a single unit. STA can be used for evaluating thermal resistance, decomposition temperature, and quantitative analysis of components by TGA data; as well as specific heat capacity Cp with DSC.

Unparalleled Baseline Stability

Baseline drift is a common issue for TG measurement error. With the newly developed balance control technology, the NEXTA STA maintains superior baseline stability of less than 10 µg throughout the temperature range. You can be assured of accurate and repeatable data. Reliable quantitative analysis of trace amount of material can be accomplished.

DSC Over Wide Temperature Range

The NEXTA STA allows you to perform DSC analysis over a higher temperature range. The peak temperature of a typical DSC instrument is around 700°C, while an STA spans over 1,000°C. Using temperature modulated DSC, our NEXTA STA can measure Cp from room temperature to 1,500°C.

Avoid Oxidation Interference During Analysis of Inorganic Materials

The NEXTA STA features a quick Gas Replacement system to study the reaction/decomposition under different purge environment. It allows residual oxygen concentrations to be reduced to less than 5 ppm. This prevents oxides from forming during the analysis of inorganic materials, such as metals, to allow transitional phases to be studied.

Real Time Sample Observation

Our innovative RealView camera system allows you to see the changes in your sample in real time. The images collected are linked to precise temperature and time measurement data which are saved so you can review at any time. Using the software, you can quantify the colour of the sample using LAB, CMYK and RGB standards. The length measurement function and shape of the sample is useful to study size changes. Seeing what happens to your sample in real time is invaluable when researching new materials, troubleshooting or understanding unexpected behaviour.
