GPC standards

Polymer Service Standards (PSS) GPC standards

Omega Scientific offers a wide range of molecular weight standards for Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) and Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) for conventional and universal calibration.

GPC/SEC reference materials and standards are mainly used to create a GPC/SEC calibration curve. The calibration curve allows the user to:

  • determine molar mass distributions and averages for unknown samples;
  • measure pore sizes using inverse GPC/SEC for porous materials;
  • quantify the resolution of GPC/SEC columns;
  • identify the optimum separation range of GPC/SEC columns.

GPC/SEC reference materials are available for many different polymer types. They are classified as either aqueous standards for water-based GPC/SEC or as organic standards for GPC/SEC in organic solvents.

Individual Standards

The following list of materials are available as single calibration standards of various molecular weights. They are typically packed in either a 1,000 mg, 500 mg or 250 mg bottle.

 Each bottle comes with a Certificate of Analysis, which provides the characterisation information, testing parameters, molecular weight values (Mn, Mw, Mp, PDI) and the chromatogram.

ReadyCal Kit

The ReadyCal Kit consist of a material with a mixture of different molecular weights that have been pre-weighed and packed into autosampler vials. Each kit contains 3 x 10 autosampler vials sufficient for at least 10 calibration curves. Each of the 3 different colour coded vials contains three or four polymers of the same type with carefully selected different molar masses.

The ReadyCal Kit allows you to prepare quickly and reproducibly an 8 to 12 point calibration curve without the inconvenience of weighing samples. Just add solvent directly into the autosampler vial, let it stand for two hours, shake gently and inject. ReadyCal Kits are available as 1.5 ml or 4.0 ml vials.
